On 17 December 2020, Naomi Appelman engaged in a discussion with Paddy Leerssen and Marijn Sax (moderator) on the regulation of platform power at the first PEPTalk. As the power of Big Tech platforms proliferates, regulators in the US and EU have been flexing their regulatory powers (or not). The session gave a primer about the recently announced Digital Services Act and Digital Markets Act from the European Commission.
PEPTalk is a monthly multi-disciplinary talk organised by the Platform for the Ethics and Politics of Technology (PEPT) group at the University of Amsterdam.
